Frequently Asked Questions

Either:

Prior to booking, I will make contact with you for the opportunity to ask any questions, find out more about my services and see if I am the right fit for you before commencing.

Our one-on-one sessions are usually 1 hour, agreed to by both parties (you and me) at a suited time and date.

Group art therapy and workshops generally vary from 1-3 hours through to full day workshops.

Face-to-face sessions are offered in Lane Cove.  Online or mobile in-home sessions are also available.

You don’t need any specific materials to do art therapy and can use whatever supplies and/or materials you have on-hand or are drawn to using.

Our first session allows us to meet each other, go through your completed intake form and discuss any presenting areas. The first sessions are also about making sure we are a good “fit” together, as it’s important you feel I am a suitable therapist for you.

Once we make initial booking contact, I will email the intake form to you. This can be filled in and returned to me prior to our first session.

Yes. When you book an appointment there is a mutual understanding between us that we are entering into an agreement. Once we decide we are a good fit and plan to work together, I will also take you through the “Terms of Service” agreement so that you know what to expect and what to expect of each other. This gives you a chance to make sure everything is understood, ask questions and ensure we are both in agreement before beginning to work together.

Yes, all information you share with me will be treated as confidential. However, there are a few circumstances where for both legal and safety reasons I am required to disclose information, which I will take you through in the Terms of Service agreement. Alternatively, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like to know more prior.

As per 1:1 sessions, we require each person within the group to adhere to and honour the same confidentiality as a 1:1 session in that “what happens within the group – stays within the group”.

I request 24 hours advance notice for cancellations so we can organise to reschedule another date/time, which can be done via phone call, sms or email. If the appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time, 100% of the session fee may apply. I will also do my best to give reasonable notice of any appointment changes.

If at any time you feel you would like to stop our sessions, you are able to. Usually we would agree, through mutual consent, a satisfactory ending to our therapeutic relationship during our initial consultations. However, if this changes, please let me know either within our sessions, via phone or email.

I am a registered and certified Counsellor and a member of The Australian Counselling Association (ACA). I am also a registered and certified Transpersonal Art Therapist and a member of The Australian, New Zealand and Asia Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA). I adhere to and work within the Code of Ethics of each of these associations. Further information is available at www.anzacata.org and www.theaca.net.au.

If you answered YES to any of these questions or perhaps have other issues or concerns, art therapy and counselling is a way to help you work through and find the answers to what you are experiencing.

Sessions can incorporate talk counselling therapy and/or art therapy.  No art experience is necessary to engage in art therapy.

We all have times when we might want to explore different aspects of our life or experience challenges. This is completely normal and part of being human. Our role is to help you navigate your way through these.

When you come to counselling or art therapy you are given the opportunity of time and space to express, explore, reflect and heal from the challenges you might be experiencing in life.

You are offered a chance to identify what holds meaning and value for you and identify your goals.

You are provided with tools and strategies to help empower you.

You are assisted in finding and building your strengths, supports and resources to help you move forward and live your best life and be the best version of yourself.

Generally, standard 1:1 private sessions are $100 for 1 hour. However, if you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact me to discuss.

Group art therapy workshops and sessions vary depending on the type and length of time. Pricing will be included when posted on the website and/or Instagram.
